The paper is aged and fragile, the typewritten letters slowly fading.
But US Military Intelligence report EW-Pa 128 is as chilling now as the day it was written in November
1944.
The document, also known as the Red House Report, is a detailed account of a secret meeting at the Maison Rouge Hotel in Strasbourg on August 10, 1944.
There, Nazi officials ordered an elite group of German industrialists to plan for Germany 's post-war recovery, prepare for the Nazis' return to power and work for a 'strong German empire'. In other words: the Fourth Reich.
Plotters: SS chief Heinrich Himmler with Max Faust, engineer with Nazi-backed company I. G. Farben.
The three-page, closely typed report, marked 'Secret', copied to British officials and sent by air pouch to Cordell Hull, the US Secretary of State, detailed how the industrialists were to work with the Nazi Party to rebuild Germany's economy by sending money through Switzerland.
They would set up a network of secret front companies abroad. They would wait until conditions were right. And then they would take over Germany again.
The industrialists included representatives of Volkswagen, Krupp and Messerschmitt.
Officials from the Navy and Ministry of Armaments were also at the meeting and, with incredible foresight, they decided together that the Fourth German Reich, unlike its predecessor, would be an economic rather than a military empire - but not just German.
The Red House Report, which was unearthed from US intelligence files, was the inspiration for my thriller The Budapest Protocol.
The book opens in 1944 as the Red Army advances on the besieged city, then jumps to the present day, during the election campaign for the first president of Europe . The European Union superstate is revealed as a front for a sinister conspiracy, one rooted in the last days of the Second World War.
But as I researched and wrote the novel, I realised that some of the Red House Report had become fact.
Nazi Germany did export massive amounts of capital through neutral countries. German businesses did set up a network of front companies abroad. The German economy did soon recover after 1945.
The Third Reich was defeated militarily, but powerful Nazi-era bankers, industrialists and civil servants, reborn as democrats, soon prospered in the new West Germany. There they worked for a new cause: European economic and political integration.
Is it possible that the Fourth Reich those Nazi industrialists foresaw has, in some part at least, come to pass?
The Red House Report was written by a French spy who was at the meeting in Strasbourg in 1944 - and it paints an extraordinary picture.
The industrialists gathered at the Maison Rouge Hotel waited expectantly as SS Obergruppenfuhrer Dr Scheid began the meeting. Scheid held one of the highest ranks in the SS, equivalent to Lieutenant General. He cut an imposing figure in his tailored grey- green uniform and high, peaked cap with silver braiding. Guards were posted outside and the room had been searched for microphones.
There was a sharp intake of breath as he began to speak. German industry must realize that the war cannot be won, he declared. 'It must take steps in preparation for a post-war commercial campaign.' Such defeatist talk was treasonous - enough to earn a visit to the Gestapo's cellars, followed by a one-way trip to a concentration camp.
But Scheid had been given special licence to speak the truth - the future of the Reich was at stake. He ordered the industrialists to 'make contacts and alliances with foreign firms, but this must be done individually and without attracting any suspicion'.
The industrialists were to borrow substantial sums from foreign countries after the war.
They were especially to exploit the finances of those German firms that had already been used as fronts for economic penetration abroad, said Scheid, citing the American partners of the steel giant Krupp as well as Zeiss, Leica and the Hamburg- America Line shipping company.
But as most of the industrialists left the meeting, a handful were beckoned into another smaller gathering, presided over by Dr Bosse of the Armaments Ministry. There were secrets to be shared with the elite of the elite.
Bosse explained how, even though the Nazi Party had informed the industrialists that the war was lost, resistance against the Allies would continue until a guarantee of German unity could be obtained. He then laid out the secret three-stage strategy for the Fourth Reich.
In stage one, the industrialists were to 'prepare themselves to finance the Nazi Party, which would be forced to go underground as a Maquis', using the term for the French resistance.
Stage two would see the government allocating large sums to German industrialists to establish a 'secure post-war foundation in foreign countries', while 'existing financial reserves must be placed at the disposal of the party so that a strong German empire can be created after the defeat'.
In stage three, German businesses would set up a 'sleeper' network of agents abroad through front companies, which were to be covers for military research and intelligence, until the Nazis returned to power.
'The existence of these is to be known only by very few people in each industry and by chiefs of the Nazi Party,' Bosse announced.
'Each office will have a liaison agent with the party. As soon as the party becomes strong enough to re-establish its control over Germany, the industrialists will be paid for their effort and co-operation by concessions and orders.'

The exported funds were to be channelled through two banks in Zurich, or via agencies in Switzerland which bought property in Switzerland for German concerns, for a five per cent commission.
The Nazis had been covertly sending funds through neutral countries for years. Swiss banks, in particular the Swiss National Bank, accepted gold looted from the treasuries of Nazi-occupied countries. They accepted assets and property titles taken from Jewish businessmen in Germany and occupied countries, and supplied the foreign currency that the Nazis needed to buy vital war materials.
Swiss economic collaboration with the Nazis had been closely monitored by Allied intelligence.
The Red House Report's author notes: 'Previously, exports of capital by German industrialists to neutral countries had to be accomplished rather surreptitiously and by means of special influence. 'Now the Nazi Party stands behind the industrialists and urges them to save themselves by getting funds outside Germany and at the same time advance the party's plans for its post-war operations.'
The order to export foreign capital was technically illegal in Nazi Germany, but by the summer of 1944 the law did not matter.
More than two months after D-Day, the Nazis were being squeezed by the Allies from the west and the Soviets from the east. Hitler had been badly wounded in an assassination attempt. The Nazi leadership was nervous, fractious and quarreling.
During the war years the SS had built up a gigantic economic empire, based on plunder
and murder, and they planned to keep it.
A meeting such as that at the Maison Rouge would need the protection of the SS, according to Dr Adam Tooze of Cambridge University, author of Wages of Destruction: The Making And Breaking Of The Nazi Economy.
He says: 'By 1944 any discussion of post-war planning was banned. It was extremely dangerous to do that in public. But the SS was thinking in the long-term. If you are trying to establish a workable coalition after the war, the only safe place to do it is under the auspices of the apparatus of terror.'
Shrewd SS leaders such as Otto Ohlendorf were already thinking ahead.
As commander of Einsatzgruppe D, which operated on the Eastern Front between 1941 and 1942, Ohlendorf was responsible for the murder of 90,000 men, women and children.
A highly educated, intelligent lawyer and economist, Ohlendorf showed great concern for the psychological welfare of his extermination squad's gunmen: he ordered that several of them should fire simultaneously at their victims, so as to avoid any feelings of personal responsibility.
By the winter of 1943 he was transferred to the Ministry of Economics. Ohlendorf s ostensible job was focusing on export trade, but his real priority was preserving the SS's massive pan-European economic empire after Germany's defeat.
Ohlendorf, who was later hanged at Nuremberg, took particular interest in the work of a German economist called Ludwig Erhard. Erhard had written a lengthy manuscript on the transition to a post-war economy after Germany's defeat. This was dangerous, especially as his name had been mentioned in connection with resistance groups.
But Ohlendorf, who was also chief of the SD, the Nazi domestic security service, protected Erhard as he agreed with his views on stabilizing the post-war German economy. Ohlendorf himself was protected by Heinrich Himmler, the chief of the SS.
Ohlendorf and Erhard feared a bout of hyper-inflation, such as the one that had destroyed the German economy in the Twenties. Such a catastrophe would render the SS's economic empire almost worthless.
The two men agreed that the post-war priority was rapid monetary stabilisation through a stable currency unit, but they realized this would have to be enforced by a friendly occupying power, as no post-war German state would have enough legitimacy to introduce a currency that would have any value.
That unit would become the Deutschmark, which was introduced in 1948. It was an astonishing success and it kick-started the German economy. With a stable currency, Germany was once again an attractive trading partner. The German industrial conglomerates could rapidly rebuild their economic empires across Europe.
War had been extraordinarily profitable for the German economy. By 1948 - despite six years of conflict, Allied bombing and post-war reparations payments - the capital stock of assets such as equipment and buildings was larger than in 1936, thanks mainly to the armaments boom. Erhard pondered how German industry could expand its reach across the shattered European continent. The answer was through supranationalism - the voluntary surrender of national sovereignty to an international body.
Germany and France were the drivers behind the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the precursor to the European Union. The ECSC was the first supranational organisation, established in April 1951 by six European states. It created a common market for coal and steel which it regulated. This set a vital precedent for the steady erosion of national sovereignty, a process that continues today.
But before the common market could be set up, the Nazi industrialists had to be pardoned, and Nazi bankers and officials reintegrated. In 1957, John J. McCloy, the American High Commissioner for Germany, issued an amnesty for industrialist convicted of war crimes.
The two most powerful Nazi industrialists, Alfried Krupp of Krupp Industries and Friedrich Flick, whose Flick Group eventually owned a 40 per cent stake in Daimler-Benz, were released from prison after serving barely three years.
Krupp and Flick had been central figures in the Nazi economy. Their companies used slave labourers like cattle, to be worked to death. The Krupp company soon became one of Europe's leading industrial combines. The Flick Group also quickly built up a new pan-European business empire. Friedrich Flick remained unrepentant about his wartime record and refused to pay a single Deutschmark in compensation until his death in July 1972 at the age of 90, when he left a fortune of more than $l billion, the equivalent of £400million at the time.
'For many leading industrial figures close to the Nazi regime, Europe became a cover for pursuing German national interests after the defeat of Hitler,' says historian Dr Michael Pinto-Duschinsky, an adviser to Jewish former slave labourers.
'The continuity of the economy of Germany and the economies of post-war Europe is striking. Some of the leading figures in the Nazi economy became leading builders of the European Union.'
Numerous household names had exploited slave and forced labourers including BMW, Siemens and Volkswagen, which produced munitions and the VI rocket.
Slave labour was an integral part of the Nazi war machine. Many concentration camps were attached to dedicated factories where company officials worked hand-in-hand with the SS officers overseeing the camps.
Like Krupp and Flick, Hermann Abs, post-war Germany's most powerful banker, had prospered in the Third Reich. Dapper, elegant and diplomatic, Abs joined the board of Deutsche Bank, Germany's biggest bank, in 1937. As the Nazi empire expanded, Deutsche Bank enthusiastically Aryanised' Austrian and Czechoslovak banks that were owned by Jews.
By 1942, Abs held 40 directorships, a quarter of which were in countries occupied by the Nazis. Many of these Aryanised companies used slave labour and by 1943 Deutsche Bank's wealth had quadrupled.
Abs also sat on the supervisory board of I.G Farben, as Deutsche Bank's representative. I.G. Farben was one of Nazi Germany's most powerful companies, formed out of a union of BASF, Bayer, Hoechst and subsidiaries in the Twenties.
It was so deeply entwined with the SS and the Nazis that it ran its own slave labour camp at Auschwitz, known as Auschwitz III, where tens of thousands of Jews and other prisoners died producing artificial rubber.
When they could work no longer, or were verbraucht(used up) in the Nazis' chilling term, they were moved to Birkenau. There they were gassed using Zyklon B, the patent for which was owned by I.G. Farben.
But like all good businessmen, I.G. Farben's bosses hedged their bets.
During the war the company had financed Ludwig Erhard's research. After the war, 24 I.G. Farben executives were indicted for war crimes over Auschwitz III - but only twelve of the 24 were found guilty and sentenced to prison terms ranging from one-and-a-half to eight years. I.G. Farben got away with mass murder.
Abs was one of the most important figures in Germany's post-war reconstruction. It was largely thanks to him that, just as the Red House Report exhorted, a 'strong German empire' was indeed rebuilt, one which formed the basis of today's European Union.
Abs was put in charge of allocating Marshall Aid - reconstruction funds - to German industry. By 1948 he was effectively managing Germany's economic recovery.
Crucially, Abs was also a member of the European League for Economic Co-operation, an elite intellectual pressure group set up in 1946. The league was dedicated to the establishment of a common market, the precursor of the European Union.
Its members included industrialists and financiers and it developed policies that are strikingly familiar today - on monetary integration and common transport, energy and welfare systems.
When Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of West Germany, took power in 1949, Abs was his most important financial adviser. Behind the scenes Abs was working hard for Deutsche Bank to be allowed to reconstitute itself after decentralization. In 1957 he succeeded and he returned to his former employer.
That same year the six members of the ECSC signed the Treaty of Rome, which set up the European Economic Community. The treaty further liberalized trade and established increasingly powerful supranational institutions including the European Parliament and European Commission.
Like Abs, Ludwig Erhard flourished in post-war Germany. Adenauer made Erhard Germany's first post-war economics minister. In 1963 Erhard succeeded Adenauer as Chancellor for three years.
But the German economic miracle - so vital to the idea of a new Europe - was built on mass murder. The number of slave and forced labourers who died while employed by German companies in the Nazi era was 2,700,000.
Some sporadic compensation payments were made but German industry agreed a conclusive, global settlement only in 2000, with a £3billion compensation fund. There was no admission of legal liability and the individual compensation was paltry. A slave laborer would receive 15,000 Deutschmarks (about £5,000), a forced laborer 5,000 (about £1,600). Any claimant accepting the deal had to undertake not to launch any further legal action.
To put this sum of money into perspective, in 2001 Volkswagen alone made profits of £1.8billion.

For now, the nation state endures. But these three typewritten pages are a reminder that today's drive towards a European federal state is inexorably tangled up with the plans of the SS and German industrialists for a Fourth Reich - an economic rather than military imperium.

Η λυσσαλέα επίθεση εναντίον των ομάδων περιφρούρησης του ΚΚΕ αλλά και των περιφρουρούμενων με πολύωρη βροχή απο σπασμένα μάρμαρα, πέτρες, μολότωφ, βόμβες κρότου/λάμψης, δακρυγόνα και ροπαλοφόρους είχε και νεκρό και καμμιά σαρανταριά τραυματίες. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν το αναμενόμενο. Στην γενική αναμπουμπούλα, και με τον χημικό πόλεμο να μαίνεται εκτός, οι "154" yesmen και yeswomen της... "ομερτά"εντός του κοινοβουλίου άνοιξαν με την ψήφο τους τον δρόμο για την εκχώρηση της εθνικής κυριαρχίας με αντάλλαγμα την περίφημη έκτη δόση.

Η πλατεία Συντάγματος έχει καθαριστεί από τα σημάδια του εγκλήματος της προηγούμενης μέρας και τα επίγεια χημικά , και ο ήλιος λάμπει πάνω απο την Βουλή σε έναν καταγάλανο ουρανό γεμάτον με τις άσπρες γνωστές-άγνωστες μυστηριώδεις λωρίδες χημικών κοκτέιλ πού αφήνουν σαν επινίκεια δώρα τα στρατοσφαιρικά αεροσκάφη που για πολλές ώρες έστρωσαν το δικό τους χημικό πάρτυ δίκην σταυροβελονιάς πάνω απο την πρωτεύουσα...
Στα σκαριά το κόμμα «Αναγέννηση» από τα σπλάχνα του ΠΑΣΟΚ
Τελειωμένο πια θεωρούν τον Γ. Παπανδρέου όλες οι εσωκομματικές τάσεις στο ΠΑΣΟΚ, όλα τα εσωκομματικά ρεύματα, ακόμα και υπουργοί, βουλευτές και στελέχη που του έχουν απομείνει πιστά.
Είναι τέτοια η κατάσταση, τέτοιο το κλίμα, ώστε ουδείς, ακόμα και απ' τους πιο πιστούς στον πρωθυπουργό, πιστεύει ότι μπορεί να αντιστραφεί η«πορεία προς τον όλεθρο», όπως χαρακτηριστικά υπογράμμιζε στο «ΠΑΡΟΝ» υπουργός προσκείμενος στον Γιώργο και πιστός σ' αυτόν.
Ο ίδιος ο Γ. Παπανδρέου απλώς προσπαθεί να κερδίσει χρόνο. Το πολιτικό τέλος που προδιαγράφεται δείχνει να το έχει αποδεχθεί. Και απόλυτα έγκυρες πληροφορίες μας αναφέρουν ότι ευρισκόμενος και σε άσχημη ψυχολογική κατάσταση πράγματι την τελευταία περίοδο έχει κάνει λόγο για παραίτηση.
Αλλά στην προσπάθειά του να κερδίσει χρόνο σε κάθε περίπτωση φαίνεται να απορρίπτει τόσο τις πρόωρες εκλογές όσο και την όποιας μορφής συγκυβέρνηση, παρότι οι προτάσεις για τέτοιες πρωτοβουλίες έχουν πυκνώσει.
Και όχι μόνον αυτό. Σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές μας πληροφορίες, σε συναντήσεις και τηλεφωνικές επικοινωνίες που έχει την τελευταία περίοδο με βουλευτές του ΠΑΣΟΚ ουσιαστικά τους απειλεί και εκβιάζει με τη χαρακτηριστική φράση: – Θα χρεωθείτε εθνική προδοσία, αν η χώρα καταρρεύσει! Βέβαια η απειλή αυτή σχετίζεται και με την αγωνία, τον φόβο του, για το τι θα γίνει τελικά στην ψηφοφορία του περίφημου και αντιλαϊκού «πολυνομοσχεδίου», το οποίο θα ψηφιστεί αυτήν την εβδομάδα. Διότι αν προκύψει θέμα καταψήφισης, είναι σαφές ότι η κυβέρνηση καταρρέει.
Αλλά σχετίζεται και με την προσωπική του τύχη. Κατατρέχεται απ' το άγχος, ότι αν καταρρεύσει η κυβέρνηση και οδηγηθούμε σε εκλογές έτσι και παρά τη θέλησή του, τότε η πιθανότητα μιας όχι απλώς εκλογικής ήττας, αλλά συντριβής, είναι άμεσα ορατή.
Μέσα σ' αυτό το –κυριολεκτικά– εκρηκτικό κλίμα, οι διεργασίες στο εσωτερικό της κυβέρνησης και του ΠΑΣΟΚ είναι έντονες, οι συσχετισμοί αλλάζουν μέρα με τη μέρα, τα δεδομένα ανατρέπονται, οι ζυμώσεις δίνουν και παίρνουν.
Όλα αυτά όμως εξελίσσονται με έναν κεντρικό άξονα:
• Ότι όλοι πια θεωρούν τον Γιώργο καμένο χαρτί, τελειωμένο. Και όλοι προσβλέπουν στην «επόμενη μέρα».
Ήδη «ΤΟ ΠΑΡΟΝ» είναι σε θέση να γνωρίζει ότι:
• Ομάδα πολυάριθμη, προερχόμενη απ' το πάλι ποτέ «κοινωνικό-συνδικαλιστικό» ΠΑΣΟΚ, έχει αναπτύξει διεργασίες και διαδικασίες για ένα νέο κόμμα. Μάλιστα έχουν ως λέξη-κλειδί τη μαγική, όπως την αποκαλούν, λέξη «ΑΝΑΓΕΝΝΗΣΗ». Ας σημειωθεί σ' αυτό το σημείο ότι τμήματα της ΠΑΣΚΕ έχουν αποχωρήσει ήδη απ' το επίσημο ΠΑΣΟΚ (ΠΑΣΚΕ ΠΟΕ-ΟΤΑ, ΠΑΣΚΕ Σιδηροδρομικών), άλλα τμήματα είναι κυριολεκτικά «στα κεραμίδια» και βρίσκονται σε ανοιχτή ρήξη με την κυβέρνηση, όπως η ΠΑΣΚΕ ΔΕΗ, ενώ ιστορικά στελέχη της ΠΑΣΚΕ βρίσκονται σε τροχιά ρήξης και συμμετέχουν σε διεργασίες για νέα πολιτικά σχήματα, όπως ο μέχρι πρόσφατα πρόεδρος της ΑΔΕΔΥ Σπ. Παπασπύρος. • Σε εξέλιξη βρίσκονται συνεννοήσεις για τη συλλογή υπογραφών στην Κοινοβουλευτική Ομάδα του ΠΑΣΟΚ σε κείμενο με το οποίο θα ζητείται η άμεση ανάληψη συγκεκριμένων πολιτικών πρωτοβουλιών. Σ' αυτές τις διαδικασίες συμμετέχουν βουλευτές οι οποίοι το τελευταίο διάστημα ασκούν έντονη κριτική σε κυβερνητικά πεπραγμένα.
• Ανάλογες κινήσεις γίνονται και από παλιά στελέχη του ΠΑΣΟΚ, μεταξύ των οποίων και στελέχη τα οποία μέχρι τώρα έχουν στηρίξει τον Γιώργο.
Ομάδα «προεδρικών» υπό την ευλογία του Γιώργου...
Βλέποντας τις κινήσεις αμφισβήτησής του και αντιλαμβανόμενος ότι οι εξελίξεις θα τρέξουν και θα τρέξουν με ραγδαίους ρυθμούς ανεξάρτητα απ' το τι ο ίδιος θέλει, ο Γιώργος ετοιμάζει τη δική του «γραμμή άμυνας» και προωθεί τους εκλεκτούς του «διά πάσαν χρήσιν», αφού ουδείς γνωρίζει τι θα προκύψει ακόμα και την επομένη.
Σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές πληροφορίες του «Π», έχει ήδη συγκροτηθεί από υπουργούς και βουλευτές, καθώς και μέλη του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου, υπό τις «ευλογίες» και την παρότρυνση του Γιώργου,ομάδα που εργάζεται πυρετωδώς για την «επόμενη μέρα», κάνει παρεμβάσεις στήριξής του, επιτίθεται επιλεκτικά σε άλλα στελέχη τα οποία με τον ένα ή τον άλλο τρόπο εκφράζουν διαφωνίες και ασκούν κριτική ή αμφισβητούν επιλογές του πρωθυπουργού. Αυτήν την ομάδα αποτελούν οι:
- Α. Λοβέρδος, ο οποίος πλέον έχει πάρει πολιτικό «διαζύγιο» με τον Β. Βενιζέλο και έχει ενταχθεί στους «θεματοφύλακες του Γιώργου», προσδοκώντας ότι έτσι καταλαμβάνει μια καλή θέση στην αφετηρία για την «επόμενη μέρα», την ώρα μάλιστα που το μπλοκ των υποστηρικτών του Β. Βενιζέλου αποψιλώνεται...
- Γ. Ραγκούσης, ο οποίος τα έχει σπάσει οριστικά με τους παλιούς υποστηρικτές του (βασικά το μπλοκ Παπουτσή), έχει απομονωθεί πολιτικά και προσδοκά ότι θα πάρει μερίδιο απ' τη λεία της «επόμενης μέρας» παίζοντας σ' αυτό το ταμπλό...
- Γ. Παπακωνσταντίνου, ο οποίος απλώς αναζητά συμμάχους και ερείσματα για την πολιτική του επιβίωση και σ' αυτήν τη φάση δεν διεκδικεί τίποτα παραπάνω...
- Π. Γερουλάνος, ένα στέλεχος διαχρονικά της απόλυτης εμπιστοσύνης του Γιώργου,με «ειδικό» ρόλο σε «ειδικές» αποστολές.
- Ηλ. Μόσιαλος, ένα νέο κυβερνητικό στέλεχος, ωστόσο με βαρύνουσα επιρροή στο στενό περιβάλλον του πρωθυπουργού, ο οποίος τον εμπιστεύεται απόλυτα.
- Άγ. Τόλκας, έμπιστος του Ηλ. Μόσιαλου.
Τον συντονισμό της ομάδας έχει αναλάβει η Ρ. Βάρτζελη, συνεπικουρούμενη απ' τους Ν. Αθανασάκη, Γ. Ελενόπουλο, Γ. Πετρουλάκη, Αλ. Χατζόπουλο (λογογράφο του πρωθυπουργού).
Στην ομάδα συμμετέχουν περί τους 15 βουλευτές. Μεταξύ αυτών οι Οδ. Βουδούρης, Νάντια Γιαννακοπούλου, Θαν. Οικονόμου, Χαρά Κεφαλίδου, Φρ. Παρασύρης, Σ. Κεδίκογλου, Στ. Κουτμερίδης.
Είναι χαρακτηριστική η επιστολή που είχαν αποστείλει στον πρωθυπουργό πρόσφατα οι Βουδούρης και Οικονόμου, οι οποίοι λίγο πολύ του ζητούσαν να διώξει εκείνους τους υπουργούς οι οποίοι δεν είναι σε θέση να υλοποιήσουν το... μεταρρυθμιστικό του έργο.
Να υπενθυμίσουμε ακόμα ότι πρόσφατα ο Θ. Πάγκαλος, όπως αναφέρει το περιοδικό «Informer», όταν ρωτήθηκε για το ποιον βλέπει διάδοχο του Γιώργου, απάντησε ότι βλέπει ή τον Λοβέρδο ή τον Ραγκούση. Σε καμία πάντως περίπτωση, προσθέτουμε, δεν βλέπει τον Βενιζέλο!
Καρχιμάκης για Παπουτσή...
Απ' την άλλη λειτουργεί ένα μπλοκ πιστών στον Γιώργο στελεχών, τα οποία ωστόσο δουλεύουν σε άλλη κατεύθυνση σε ό,τι αφορά στη διαδοχή.
Για παράδειγμα, ο γραμματέας του ΠΑΣΟΚ Μιχ. Καρχιμάκης δουλεύει σταθερά για τον Χρ. Παπουτσή, ο οποίος δεν κρύβει τις φιλοδοξίες που έχει για τη διαδοχή. Ο υπουργός Προστασίας του Πολίτη έχει επίσης ερείσματα στον κομματικό μηχανισμό, όπου φαίνεται να τον στηρίζει και ο Γ. Παναγιωτακόπουλος, αν και ο τελευταίος αποστασιοποιείται πλέον συνολικά απ' την κυβέρνηση και ασκεί κριτική ακόμα και στον Γιώργο...
Σε ό,τι αφορά τον Β. Βενιζέλο, είναι γεγονός ότι η θητεία του στο υπουργείο Οικονομικών τον έχει αποδυναμώσει. Ορισμένοι βουλευτές εκ των υποστηρικτών του τον έχουν εγκαταλείψει. Ωστόσο διατηρεί ακόμα ερείσματα στην ΚΟ, αν και αποδυναμωμένος.
Θα πάρουν το... «νεκρό σώμα»!
Πάντως ενδεικτικό της τραγικής κατάστασης που επικρατεί είναι και το γεγονός ότι πλέον αρκετοί βουλευτές δεν ακολουθούν κανέναν δελφίνο ή πρωτοκλασάτο, υπογραμμίζοντας ότι, έτσι που έχουν διαμορφωθεί τα πράγματα, ουδείς σώζεται με τίποτα.
Και αυτή η αποστασιοποίηση βουλευτών και στελεχών αντικειμενικά οδηγεί σε καταστάσεις έως και ανεξέλεγκτες. Κανείς δεν γνωρίζει τι του ξημερώνει...
Θα αναφέρουμε τα λόγια που σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές μας πληροφορίες είπε βουλευτής απ' τη Ν. Ελλάδα πρόσφατα, σε σύναξη αρκετών βουλευτών:
– Κύριοι, δεν το καταλαβαίνετε; Έχουμε τελειώσει. Έχουν διαλυθεί τα πάντα, τι περιμένουμε;
Ενώ άλλος βουλευτής μάς υπογράμμισε:
– Δηλαδή τι θέλουν να διαδεχθούν όλοι αυτοί; Ένα «νεκρό σώμα»;
Σ' αυτά τα πλαίσια ας τονίσουμε ότι και η ομάδα των στελεχών εκείνων που, όπως προαναφέραμε, συμμετέχει σε διεργασίες για ένα νέο κίνημα με κεντρική λέξη την «ΑΝΑΓΕΝΝΗΣΗ» επισημαίνει ότι: - Όσα βιώνουμε αυτήν την ιστορική περίοδο αποτελούν το κύκνειο άσμα του ΠΑΣΟΚ, το οποίο (αυτό δηλαδή που κάποτε ήταν και όχι το σημερινό σχήμα...) μπορεί μόνο απ' τις στάχτες του να αναγεννηθεί.
- Για ποιο κόμμα μιλάμε; Γι' αυτό που δεν αποκλείεται στις επόμενες εκλογές να έχει το «1» ως πρώτο αριθμό του ποσοστού που θα λάβει;
- Ή για το κόμμα που χρωστά δεκάδες εκατομμύρια ευρώ στις τράπεζες και έχει υποθηκεύσει την κρατική επιχορήγηση μέχρι το... 2017; Χρεοκοπημένο δηλαδή και πολιτικά και οικονομικά!
Δεν μπορεί να πάρει αποφάσεις
- Ο Γιώργος είναι και πολιτικά τελειωμένος και πια και αναποτελεσματικός. Αδυνατεί να κυβερνήσει. Ακόμα και όταν σε συνεδριάσεις του Υπουργικού μαλώνουν μπροστά του υπουργοί ή κατατίθενται προτάσεις για σοβαρά ζητήματα, δεν αποφασίζει, όπως θα έπρεπε να κάνει ένας πραγματικός ηγέτης. Τα παραπέμπει... κάπου στο μέλλον...
The expanded bailout fund will not help if Italy or Spain is dragged into the economic crisis, and the austerity packages are driving Greece and Portugal to revolutions, warned British European Parliament member Nigel Farage.
“They are having austerity packages pushed upon them, which is forcing them into downward deflation, which in my opinion could lead to revolution in Greece and possibly in Portugal, too,” Farage told RT. “What we are doing is stupid, and very, very dangerous indeed.”
“If Italy goes down, they would need a couple of trillion to bail it out,” he said. “And what it the point of bailing these countries out anyway? Are these bailouts helping people in Greece or Portugal? No, they're not!”
“What they are actually doing,” he continued, “is giving money to these countries to give back to our banks, who over-lent to them in the first place. I mean, the whole thing is mad. What these countries trapped inside this economic prison called the Eurozone need is to devalue.”
Within the course of actions chosen by the EU, the Greek default is inevitable, Farage stated.
“I've been asking for nine months for a Plan B,” he said. “Could we please be grown up, could we please be mature, could we please be good Europeans and recognize that when the inevitable Greek default comes, unless we have a Plan B, on the first day there will be no money in the banks, on Day 2 there will be no bread in the bakeries. To date they have prepared absolutely nothing. I think what will happen now is that senior economists will begin to put together a contingency plan that allows Greece, Portugal and Ireland, too, to leave the Eurozone, reschedule their debts, get a new currency that devalues 50, maybe 60 percent. And as Iceland proved back in 2008, sometimes it is best to take the bad news, accept where you are, and start again. That is what needs to happen.”
Farage sees a very clear motive behind the current EU leadership’s actions to postpone the default of Greece and Portugal.
“These people are absolutely intent on creating a United States of Europe, they don't care how many millions of people are trapped in the unemployment trap, they don't care about the tide of human misery they cause, they have got their political goal,”Farage said. “But the reality is that not only economically it is failing, but politically it is failing, too. We can talk about the Slovakian Parliament, but look what happened in Finland earlier this year, when virtually a brand new political party got a 20 percent vote, look at the opinion polls in the Netherlands, there is now a split in Europe from north to south. And in the north we are witnessing a democratic revolution against the whole concept of the euro, and the idea that people like Mr. Barroso and my old friend van Rompuy should govern 500 million people. It is not acceptable.”
Still, there are those for whom the idea of entering a united Europe still looks appealing – among them Serbia, which was granted candidate status on Wednesday.
“It is very stupid, and again it is the political class of Europe that wants to do this,” Farage concluded. “Serbian politicians, of course, will become multi-millionaires if they join the EU, so that's extremely attractive to them. But think about this: Just a decade ago, we had Croats and Serbs killing each other in vast numbers, so they can be in separate countries, and now their politicians and leaders want to reunite them all again in the same kind of political union as Yugoslavia was. It is absolutely insane.”
Decentralize or centralize
The head of the European Commission has put forward a new crisis plan, saying European banks should increase their reserves to withstand market turmoil.
The move is designed to force banks to set aside more assets to cushion the system against a possible collapse.
Jose-Manuel Barroso also wants no dividends or bonuses to be paid until the plan is implemented.
RT's contributor Demetri Kofinas says the new regulations could freeze the whole system. He says a threat of contagion in the banking system is very real and must be addressed seriously.

October 13, 2011 A disturbing new trend has quietly taken hold over simultaneous nationwide protests in the United States over the last few weeks. Visible throughout the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protests, is a technique dubbed as “The People’s Microphone”. It has been deployed nationwide, and is fast becoming the dominant vehicle for group interaction and communication. So what is it?
Well-behaved crowds use call-and-repeat with a series of basic hand signals to protest the establishment
“New York City requires a permit to use “amplified sound.” Since Occupy Wall Street does not have a permit, police have interpreted that to mean even the use of an electric bullhorn. As a response to such limitations, a phenomenon known as the “People’s Microphone” has evolved, where a person making a speech pauses while the nearby members of the audience repeats the previous phrase (somewhat) in unison.” The entry adds, “The (People’s Microphone) effect has been called “comic or exhilarating – often all at once.” Some feel this provided a further unifying effect for the crowd.”
Advocates of this new method claim that it is a work-around to restrictive city ordinances, serving as a ‘progressive communication’ tool which allows groups to speak and achieve “community consensus”, where the audience is asked to listen in a whole new way and to actually help transmit the message to others. They will tell you that accuracy and transparency are crucial elements of the People’s Microphone. NLP device: the ‘call-and-return’ and technique OWS’s new People’s Microphone is quite simply a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) application or technique. Its consensus arrival method, also known as “call-and-return”, has now become the audio device of choice- spreading across the country as quickly as the protests themselves. Crowd participants slowly repeat each phrase the leading speaker is saying to them, with a series of hand signs used to provide the speaker and the group with feedback. To the casual observer, this new system of communication may appear as compelling as it is metaphoric. It might also remind you of the infamous ‘pass the conch’ scene from the Nobel Prize-winning novel by William Golding, Lord of the Flies. It is a very slow and tedious process, often resulting in very few actual issues being fleshed out. In most cases, it takes triple the amount of time to convey the same amount of information that a normal speaker would accomplish by talking directly to the audience. But ‘call-and-return’ can only be done when the group is forced to repeat the words of the speaker, so the speaker is forced to talk slowly, using fewer words at once. In this way, it is also a mesmerizing and extremely hypnotic group communication tool. Such NLP methods can also be used to promote ‘group-think’ and would be described by some as collectivist mind control education at its very finest. Successful NLP systems like this are commonly used in the military, by sales people in business, as well as in advertising and of course in politics, always working in restricted bloc of words, and often with restricted vocabularies. Group moderators insist that this is done so that ‘everybody is safe’, and that the group is ‘doing things properly’. Any interaction with a speaker can only be done by employing a series of parochial, child-like hand-signs, normally reserved for children attending school in K-8 grades. Participants insist that by using this method they get a feeling of ‘being part of the community’, where group leaders will ask the crowd for a ‘temperature check’ in order to determine “how ‘the bloc’ feels about what someone has said”, and if what someone is in consensus with “the bloc”. The audience will offer up a hand signal of waiving both hands to show their approval. Once a consensus is identified, it’s typical that members of “the bloc” will feel that they are part of the collective, and thus, “part of the change”. Unfortunately, in this type of system most of the group have little idea of what they are actually repeating, or who and what they are supporting with their hand signals, waving their hands, or making a triangle sign to communicate. Watch as the speaker in the following video explains to his ‘bloc’ that their ‘collective’ will be banning any applause because the clapping of hands might drown out someone within the collective who is trying to be heard. In the end, Occupy Atlanta organizers and the group became so enthralled with their People’s Microphone that Congressman and civil rights hero John Lewis was not allowed an opportunity to speak to ‘the collective’. The ‘process’ eventually sent the Congressman packing. This NLP ‘call-and-repeat’ mechanism can no doubt be used to hypnotic effect. Often these type of techniques are used in order to filter out the free thinkers, where intense self-policing at its most stringent. Notice that when group members are disagreeing, their hands are much lower, but at their maximum when ‘the bloc’ seems to all be in agreement. What these protestors are hardly aware of, is that they may be participating a form of modern day group-think. It is a form of social control whereby everyone in the group believes that they must all agree and must all be of the same mind. Armed with this powerful new tool, professional consensus promoters can be bussed into sites around the country, training groups to chant key group-think talking points using various mnemonic phrases. The collectivist trap The concept of ‘the collective’ or ‘the community’ is a power one when applied to activism. For this reason it allowed a number of radical regimes to sweep into power during the 20th century. Participants in a collective truly believe in the process and that their process is very ‘democratic’, civilized, radical, effective, and thus, revolutionary. But few within these groups are actually aware of the NLP concepts they have opted into, nor are they familiar with tried and tested mind-control methods, or the powerful political tool of collectivism. So it is not surprising that most will enthusiastically join in the group and religiously abide by its laws of conversation, following some scripted agenda instead of being spontaneous or truly radical. The People’s Microphone can also lead a group to believe by using these hand signal votes they can create a law and enforce it. This can often result in an oxymoronic “totalitarian-consensus”, whereby a perceived consensus occurs, but in reality, a consensus was only reached because each member of the group was afraid to be ejected from ‘the collective’. This form of mob mentality can be dangerous because the leader of a group is leading the flock in his or her direction of choice, whilst still offering them the illusion it is ‘what everyone in the community wants’. In the classic film Dr Zhivago, scenes appear in which leading “intellectual” group-thinkers demolish the private property of others because, according to the collective, “they don’t deserve to own it”.
Taking this concept is taken to its extreme form, a mob or individual within the mob might willfully intimidate, or even physically assault a person, during which time the mob believe they are just watching what ‘the collective’ or ‘community’ wants to happen. Hardly grass roots
It is already well documented that the original Occupy Wall Street protest was seeded by a collectivist George Soros funded foundation called Ad Busters, and allegedly supported by the shadowy agitator hacker group called Anonymous.
For the last decade, globalist foundations promoting democracy and freedom have been active in fomenting uprisings all over the planet, and fresh off their international successes they have finally come home to roost within the OWS movement.
But what is not as well documented is the involvement of the international CIA front organization called the Center for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies(CANVAS).This can be described as a kind of consultancy for would-be revolutionaries, an organization of professional agitators-for-hire who globe-trot, openly promoting their CFR-sponsored agenda- most notably in Egypt, where CANVAS trained and managed Egyptian protestors as early as 2009 in preparation for the fabled ‘Arab Spring’ in 2010-2011.
Their projects are clandestine, kept secret while in preparation, names of clients are not publically available, and are extremely well funded by American intelligence services. And yes, they are now active on US soil.
It is important that readers understand how CANVAS was created- from the Serbian political youth movement called OPTOR!(translated as ‘Resistance!), who’s initial project was the US-backed overthrow of the Slobodan Milosevic government in Yugoslavia in 2000.
OPTOR’s support and funding network reads like a who’s who of CIA and globalist front foundations, including well known CIA front organization USAID, George Soros’s collectivist front foundation Freedom House, and the National Endowment for Democracy whose operational successes include the Rose Revolution in Georgia, the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, and the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, each heavily financed and backed by groups funded by or connected to the U.S. government. Likewise, events in Tunisia, North Africa and Egypt were orchestrated out of the finest detail, and it seems that events surrounding the OWS movement are no different.
Key operatives in OPTOR!, and later for CANVAS are Serbians Ivan Marovic and Srdja Popovic. After the fall of Milosovec, the western media hailed Marovic as a democratic genius, but it came out later that his entire program came out of an elite Boston think tank’s ‘regime change’ manual, From Dictatorship to Democracy, written by a Harvard Professor Gene Sharp.

Some of the CANVAS professionally developed ‘subversive’ revolutionary methods are outlined in the incredible documentary film The Revolution Business, where paid facilitators are employed to train protesters, acting as a guide through the process which also includes communication techniques and the circulation of media talking points. Mind control and the dumbing-down of America

These NLP techniques have taken hold quickly across OWS events and are techniques that have been previously implemented throughout the America’s public education systems and also present in popular children’s programming.
Typically, participants in a mind-control exercise engage in group-think, not unlike the participants shown in these videos. Members of the group will also get an endorphin rush similar to what one might receive during an evangelical church performance, or even at hip-hop concert, where the MC shouts, “now wave your hands in the air, and wave ‘em like you just don’t care.” Charlotte Iserbyt was a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, where she blew the whistle on a major technology initiative which would control curriculum in America’s classrooms shown in the documentary film, The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America.
Most Americans participating in OWS have come through the state education system, whose chief objective, according to Charlotte Iserbyt, is teaching groups, and thus individuals… to be obedient.
The dominant message which is now coming out of the OWS protests across the US appears to be the collectivist idea of an unequal distribution of wealth in the United States, which looks a lot like any social engineer’s blueprint for a 21st century Bolshevik Revolution in America, and it is playing out right before our eyes as the millions of young, disaffected Americans search for simple collectivist answers to society’s many complex ills.
One can certainly argue here, that the dumbing-down of America would serve such an agenda. Establishing fear in a police state
Notice that we already have “free speech zones” in the US, while prospective protesters in the UK must apply with the city police for a ‘public license to demonstrate’.
Aside from the incessant need by most young Americans to be led by a lone, some singular voice, the underlying social engineering tool which has enabled the intellectual and sovereign castration of Americans, is quite simply… the fear of being arrested.
One singular thing that a decade of free speech zones, homeland security, surveillance and a comprehensive dismantling of the Bill of Rights(equally under both Bush and Obama) has achieved – is just that – a constant fear of a shadowy police state. Without this underlying fear, the repressive Soviet-style group-think scenes we see in these video could never have been possible.
The whole existence of ThePeople’s Microphone is down to the fact that NYC police have imposed draconian measures like banning megaphones. As far as requiring a license to protest in public, not using a PA system in public, or restricting filming in a public space, true patriots and believers in a free society should not seek ‘permits’ for anything, nor should they respect ‘prohibitions’ on a citizen’s right to free speech and assembly.
Notice that not all cities in the USA prohibit bull-horning or amplified speakers, yet, American activists have still voluntarily defaulted back to the collectivist NLP method, The People’s Microphone, initially unveiled at OWS in NYC.
More than anything, these videos of mindless call-and-repeat chanting show the deep problems any true freedom movement must overcome in reaching ‘the 99%’ in America. Where it’s heading
From its onset, many writers and pundits within the independent media and freedom movement threw their support behind OWS, with the sincere hope it focused on the deeper, fundamental globalist control issues- like restoring the Constitution, the need for smaller government, the creation and counterfeiting our currency through the Federal Reserve System, causing the inflationary boom and bust cycles that have been periodically culling the world’s upwardly mobile working and middle classes. Instead, the focus of both protesters and media has drifted towards system actors like corporations, CEO’s, bankers and politicians, rather than addressing the very system itself.
If you take into account the level by which the Occupy Wall Street movement has already been co-opted by the ‘progressives’ and the Democratic Party, and endorsed whole-heartedly by staunch globalists within the US power-structure like Ben Bernanke, President Obama and Nancy Pelosi, this writer believes strongly that OWS will likely morph into a permanent left wing counter-weight to the now Republican co-opted Tea Party movement.
The movement may appear to be growing organically, but as we saw with Ron Paul’s initial Tea Party spark back in 2007, once a movement’s political gravity reached a certain stage, the establishment will have already deployed its professional agitators, political operatives and mainstream media gate keepers in order to control its motion and shepherd its evolution. This was as true back in 1968 as it is in 2011. Already, the mainstream media have injected the talking point which most Americans are already parroting, that is: “America’s Occupy Movement is the Democrats’ equivalent to the Tea Party”.
What these movements do is function as an easy access, pressure-release valve for the controlled Left and Right wings. Both parties in the US have become too rigid, offering little to a 21st century society that is now information-rich, but still insight poor, and generally cater to the lowest common social denominator. With unemployment and debts high, and opportunities sparse, the simplified message of collectivism championed by OWS celebrity filmmaker Michael Moore, will certain hold an attractive appeal to many Americans who are unfamiliar with collectivism’s well documented past horrors.
Soon, the Occupy London movement will begin in the UK. Based on recent trends in the US, this writer will also strongly predict that OWS’s British counterpart will quickly morph into anti-Tory government, pro-socialist, climate change/green movement, not least because the majority of protesters in the UK will be among the ranks of the unemployed, indebted students, and chronic state benefit recipients- a fact which almost guarantees their loyal support of the UK’s social entitlement control-grid, as well as memberships to the ultra collectivist EU and UN supra-national organizations.
In times of economic strife, populations are easily lured into the simple, Marxist ideological trap of collectivism. Under these conditions, most participants in the OWS movement would be completely unaware that an organization like CANVAS or Freedom House is directing and steering their new ‘grassroots’ conversation.
To avoid the collectivist trap, participants in OWS events all across the US must first learn to read between the lines, or they may unwittingly become party to something completely different to what they thought they had signed up for in the first place.
